In Other Twilight News...

Until recently, I didn't realize just how enamored I am with Lise Watier's Gloss Twilight. Just this past weekend, it breaking dawned on me that I reach for this cupcake-fragranced lip gloss several times daily.

It has this nifty little mirror on the side of the tube, and the wand lights up when you remove it from the base - so you can neatly apply (and re-apply) even in the darkest of situations.

Urban Jungle: Lise Watier Savanna Dream Spring 2009 Collection

Those who know me will tell you I’m a sucker for anything animal print. Throw a zebra or leopard pattern on anything - doesn’t matter what it is - and I’m pulling out my wallet. So it’s no surprise that I’m wild about Lise Watier’s new spring range, Savanna Dream.

This "exotic and contemporary collection" is inspired by the untamed nature of the African plains and includes eye shadows, bronzing powder, lip pencil, and lipstick…but my favorites, paws down, are the lipgloss and mascara.

Gloss WOW in Savanna Dream is a glittery gloss that adds pizazz to any shade of lipstick. Worn alone, it bathes bare lips with a gilded, prismatic effect. Peep the gloss swatch on my hand...doesn’t it just make you wanna purr?

The 24Hrs Glam Mascara uses tube technology to add extreme volume and length to lashes until you’re ready to take it off. Which means, on weekdays around 2:30pm when I inevitably starts rubbing my eyes, I won’t end up looking like Tammy Faye. 24Hrs Glam Mascara is part of the spring collection but will remain as an extension to the Lise Watier mascara line.

Warm and Fuzzy Eyeshadow: Lise Watier Cachemires Bleu Quartet

How many of you own an eye shadow quad with no clue about where and how to apply the colors? I can relate…I’m a beauty junkie, not a makeup artist. Which is why I am such a big fan of Lise Watier’s eye shadow palettes. Included with the kits are directions on how to achieve different looks, complete with color-coded diagrams.

This summer, I was all about the Eye Quartet in Mer. And now that the lazy days of summer have come to an end, I’m feeling kinda blue. In a good way.

For fall, Lise Watier presents two seasonal colour quartets in soft, soothing shades – my favorite being Cachemires Bleu. This palette of (composed of a grey taupe, a sky blue, an anthracite blue and a luminous pale pink) is both subtle and refined, allowing infinite mix-and match possibilities. And it comes nestled in a pretty knitted pouch, accented with sequins!

To create the look above, I used products from Lise Watier’s new collection, Les Cachemires:

Cachemires Bleu Eyeshadow Quartet
Eye Shine Metallic Eyeliner in Marine
Metal Liner in Marine

80s Ladies Week: You Need Lise Watier Havana Dry Oil Today...Not Tomorrow!

Back in the mid-eighties, I wanted to be an orphan. But not just any orphan…little orphan Annie. As a musically-inclined rugrat, I couldn’t imagine anything better than singing and dancing around all day, not going to school, and getting into shenanigans with my best girlfriends.

I would watch my VHS tape recording of Annie incessantly. I watched that movie like it was my J-O-B. And when the tape wasn’t in the VCR, I was playing the soundtrack on my Fisher Price record player. My mom probably cursed the day that she bought that record, because from then on, I was running around the house acting out every scene and practicing the songs like I was Broadway-bound. With a red cheerleading pom-pom perfectly perched on my head, I belted out “Tomorrow” like there was no tomorrow.

Okay, enough of my trip down memory lane. It’s 80s Ladies Week here at Spoiled Pretty and, today, my product review is inspired by my favorite childhood movie. You know how the orphans sang "You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile?" Well, while that may be true, this beauty junkie insists you’re never fully dressed without Lise Watier’s new Havana Dry Oil Body Glow.

Picture it…it’s Friday or Saturday night. You're getting ready to go out with your man or meet up with your friends. You’re wearing a pair of kitten heels that would make Carrie Bradshaw blush and you’ve got your freakum dress on. But you’re not ready until you dress your arms, legs, and décolletage in Havana Dry Oil. The luxurious texture of this dry oil melts on the skin, and its golden shimmering pearls reflect the light to leave the skin with a luminous tan.

If this stuff was available in the make-believe 1930s, Miss Hannigan would certainly slather some on before her mid-day tryst with Mr. Bundles, the laundry man.

Formulated with a light sunscreen and enriched with emollients and antioxidant Vitamin E, Havana Dry Oil penetrates quickly, leaving skin silky smooth, without any greasy or oily residue…so you don’t “shine like the top of the Chrystler Building.” And the baby oil scent smells heavenly!
