Oscars 2009 Beauty: Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie looked stunning in a black strapless Elie Saab gown paired with beautiful emerald-colored jewels which added a striking burst of color. Celebrity makeup artist Mary Burton created Angelina’s flawless look.
Mary applied Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl in Black Ebony to the upper and lower lash lines. She emphasized the shape of Angelina’s eyes by applying more liner to the outer corners of the eye. Several coats of Lancôme Ôscillation Mascara were applied to the upper lashes for added volume and length. Mary put a touch of pink to the cheeks using Shu Uemura Blush in M Pink 31 and applied it to her cheekbones near the temple. To create ultra-shiny and luminous lips, Mary used Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Spring Fling. To achieve Angelina's romantic cascade of curls, celebrity hairstylist David Babaii "sprayed Angie’s entire head with David Babaii for WildAid Bohemian Beach Spray and scrunched it into the hair (this gives just the right texture and hold)."
"Next, I dried her hair by dividing her tresses into 3 sections: top, sides and back leaving the nape area free. Taking small sections starting at the nape, I used the David Babaii for WildAid Blow Dryer with the nozzle attachment and finish the drying process with a large round brush to smooth hair straight. At the crown area, I sprayed David Babaii for WildAid Volcanic Ash Root Amplifier to the root area and down the hair shaft. Then, I dried this section with a jumbo round brush to add lift and volume."
"Once dry, I sectioned the hair again using the same sectioning process as I did for blow drying. Using the David Babaii for WildAid Styling Iron, I once again sectioned the hair into 3 sections: top, sides and back leaving the nape area free. To curl, use the Styling Iron to create “ribbon curls” by taking small “V” shaped sections. To achieve, I wrapped the hair around and inside the styling iron close to the scalp area and pull the iron down (similar to curling ribbon).""After curling the entire head, I smoothed some of the curls with a brush while leaving some intact. At the crown area, I back-brushed the hair at the scalp area only, sprayed some additional Volcanic Ash Root Amplifier and gently smoothed the surface not to remove too much of the back-brushing. Next, to create her half-up, half down look, I brushed the sides up and back and secured with pins. To complete the back, I ran my fingers up several curls to create volume and variations in texture. For a long but natural lasting hold, I used David Babaii for WildAid Mise en Plis Light Styling Spray."
Styling Tip: Why so much sectioning? It is vital to have constant control of your hair at all times. You will never miss an area or a section.

David Babaii Shares His Tips For Achieving Angelina Jolie's SAG 2009 Hair

Celebrity hair stylist and co-founder of David Babaii for WildAid, David Babaii, shares his tips for re-creating Angelina Jolie’s SAG 2009 do.
To capture Angelina's effortlessly elegant style, hairstylist David Babaii blow dried wet tresses to create a shiny, frizz free foundation. Slightly back comb sections of hair and smooth out with a brush to achieve desired height. Create a low bun at the nape of the neck by gathering sections of curls and securing with black bobby pins. Finish with David Babaii for WildAid Mise En Plis Extra Hold Styling Spray for a dazzling red carpet style.David Babaii works with Hollywood A-listers like Angelina Jolie, Uma Thurman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Kidman, and Scarlet Johansson, among others, and has most recently partnered with Kate Hudson on their eco-friendly hair care and styling collection, David Babaii for WildAid. SAG Awards Beauty: Angelina Jolie

Angelina looked stunning in a dark, navy blue Max Azria gown. Celebrity makeup artist Mary Burton wanted to create a 60’s look and chose to focus on Angelina’s eyes by applying lots of eyeliner and mascara. She used Lancôme Artliner in Noir just above the lash line. To compliment Angelina’s eye color and to make her eyes really stand out, she applied a bluish grey eyeshadow - YSL Ombre Solo Double Effect Eyeshadow in #3 Silk Blue - to the eyelid. Finally, she applied several coats of Lancôme Courbe Virtuôse Mascara in Black. Mary added a touch of pink to the apples of Angie's cheeks using Shu Uemura blush in M Pink 31. Golden Globes Gorgeous: Angelina Jolie
Celebrity makeup artist Mary Burton created the beautiful look for Angelina Jolie and shared tips on how to recreate it.Mary wanted to create a sheer, natural look and chose to focus on Angie's eyes. She applied Lancôme Artliner in Noir to the lash line starting at the inner corner and blending out. To create drama, Mary used two different mascaras, Lancôme Virtuôse Mascara in Black and Lancôme Ôscillation Mascara in Black and applied a few coats of both to add volume and length. She added just a touch of color to the apples of her cheeks by applying Lancôme Color Design Blush in Model Mocha with her finger. To finish the look, Mary used Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Spring Fling for a soft, pale pink, glossy pout.
Celebrity hairstylist David Babaii styled Angeline’s mane with three simple tools: a blow dryer, round brush and his signature Bohemian Beach Spray.
After blow drying her hair with his David Babaii for WildAid Blow Dryer and a round brush, David took large sections twisting the ends around the brush and spraying each with his Bohemian Beach Spray. Using the dryer's low speed, he gave each section a blast of warm air to set. After cooling, the section was gently unwrapped from the brush and additional Bohemian Beach Spray was scrunched in to give volume and lift. The result is a look that is not over done or un-natural and is easy to achieve at home!
